This is an integrated language skills course for students who have foundational English language skills and who wish to upgrade their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for academic and non-academic purposes.
The reading and writing sections of the course include;
- simple and compound sentence development
- short written composition
- reading and analyzing texts
- basic strategies for vocabulary development
- an introduction to parts of speech.
The listening and speaking sections include;
- speaking practice and strategies
- listening and responding to a variety of short conversations
- developing and producing short oral presentations on familiar subjects
Grammar and punctuation elements will be integrated and reinforced across the four skill areas.
Prerequisites:
EAP Placement Test Score – Level 1
Course timings: either mornings (9-1) or evenings (5-9)
