This integrated language skills course is for students who wish to upgrade their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for academic and non-academic purposes.
The reading and writing sections of the course include;
- simple, compound and complex sentence development
- short written composition
- reading and analyzing texts
- introduction to the dictionary
- practice with parts of speech
The listening and speaking sections include;
- strategies for comprehending and participating in basic conversation in an academic setting
- listening and responding to short, modified texts
- developing and producing short oral presentations on familiar subjects.
Grammar and punctuation elements will be integrated and reinforced across the four skill areas.
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of EAP Level 1
EAP Placement Test Score – Level 2
Course timings: either mornings (9-1) or evenings (5-9)
