This integrated language skills course is for students who wish to upgrade their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for academic and non-academic purposes.
The reading and writing sections of the course include;
- composition experience and intermediate listening and speaking skills.
- specific reading skills such as predicting, guessing meaning from context and note-taking.
- ideas from readings are used to write different types of paragraphs and short compositions.
The listening and speaking sections include;
- strategies for comprehending and producing intermediate level oral language in an academic setting.
- listening and responding to short conversations or reports from a variety of media
- simple note-taking
- developing and producing academic oral presentations
Grammar and punctuation elements will be integrated and reinforced across the four skill areas.
Prerequisites:
Successful completion of Level 2 course
EAP Placement Test Score – Level 3
Course timings: either mornings (9-1) or evenings (5-9)
