Entertainment Night

Canadian University of Dubai held its 4th annual Entertainment Night on December 21st 2011. The event was sold out to 200 guests. Eleven performances took the stage with close to 60 performers.

First time performers included the CUD Band: In Transition and the CUD Hip Hop Club as well as a rock band called AKB. All of whom rocked the stage with their sound and moves! Many other performances were done by veterans to the CUD stage including: The CUD Bollywood Dancers, the CUD Debkeh Club, Terrence Paiva and his band Rasta T and the Roxy Roots, Arabic Singer Hareth Munir, hip hop artists Random Ghost and Izzy and of course Hassan Bin Shams who performed with Desert Heat. There was also a Rock and Roll themed Fashion show with 10 models strutting their stuff in Splash Fashion which offers a 10% student discounts upon presentation to all students with CUD id cards.

There were 6 judges who came from a variety of dance, song, fashion and entertainment backgrounds. MUSE Entertainment Talent Scout Marketa Halamek was judging the event and said she was amazed to see student’s supported each other and how professional they were.

The night was a huge success! The winners were announces as: AKB for Best Band, CUD Bollywood for Best Dance, Hassan Bin Shams for Best Singer and Danial Shirazi and Parmida Mohri for best models.
