Canadian University Dubai encourages students to use the materials that are available in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) for independent learning, research needs or personal improvement. Access to the LRC, loan of materials or electronic resources are available to all Canadian University Dubai students, faculty and staff. The Learning Resource Center is located at the ground floor of Building A of the university campus.

The LRC houses a print collection of over 11,000 items consisting of books, journals, newspapers and a wide range of electronic resources: access to over 32,835 e‐journals, over 170,000 e‐books, over 369,000 Company Reports and Data, access to country reports, Thesis and Dissertations, Conference proceedings, videos, etc. These electronic resources are accessible on and off campus 24/7.

The LRC subscribes to electronic databases such as: Business Source Complete, Global Data, Ebrary Academic Complete (Ebooks), Safari Business (Ebooks), Safari Technical (Ebooks), EBL, Art Source, Oxford Art Online, Communication & Mass Media Complete, GreenFile, Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA), ProQuest Central (ABI/INFORM Complete, ABI/INFORM Dateline, ABI/INFORM Global, ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry, Accounting & Tax, ProQuest Asian Business & Reference, ProQuest Biology, ProQuest Career and Technical Education, ProQuest Computing, ProQuest Criminal Justice, ProQuest Education Journals, ProQuest European Business, ProQuest Family Health, ProQuest Health & Medical Complete, ProQuest Health Management, ProQuest Military Collection, ProQuest Newsstand, ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source, ProQuest Political Science, ProQuest Psychology Journals, ProQuest Religion, ProQuest Research Library, ProQuest Science, ProQuest Social Science Journals, ProQuest Sociology, ProQuest Telecommunications).

The LRC holds a series of information literacy events for all university students and faculty every semester. Canadian University Dubai LRC has an agreement with British Library that provides inter-library loan whenever information required by the students and faculty is not available within the LRC resources.

The LRC use the Library of Congress Classification system. Computers and Wi‐Fi connections are available within the premises.

Computers, Photocopier and Printer

The LRC computers has access to internet for research and printing purposes for CUD LRC users. Students can reload their printing and photocopying account from the Printing Center. Reload balance card can be purchased at 20AED.

Printing charges:

A4 paper – 25 fils per page, A3 – 50 fils per page. Photocopier is RFID operated, thus, University student ID card is required to obtain photocopier service.

The CUD LRC abides by the UAE and International copyright law.

Borrowing Procedure and Policies

All users must present their University ID in order to borrow learning materials from the LRC. Students are entitled to borrow 5 items at a time for the duration of two weeks. Borrowed item(s) are renewable depending on demand.

General collection

These materials can be borrowed for the duration of two weeks (14 days) and can be renewed.

Course Reserve Materials

These are course text books or reading materials that are required for the current semester. A University student ID card must be presented at the circulation desk to borrow the reserve collections for LRC use only.


Old issues can be borrowed for the duration of two weeks (14 days) and can be renewed. Latest issues are for LRC use only.


Overdue fines of 2AED per day per book will be levied to all late returned borrowed items.
