Canadian University of Dubai Extends Academic Partnership with EMLYON Business School

The Canadian University of Dubai (CUD) is pleased to announce the extension of its academic partnership with the EMLYON Business School. EMLYON is one of the most prestigious schools of business and is consistently ranked among the top 50 in the world by the globally recognized British Economist magazine. Its MBA program is also ranked among the top 5 in the world by the Financial Times. The quality of EMLYON’s institution is evident through its accreditation by three global bodies, the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of Masters of Business Administration (AMBA).

CUD and EMLYON have been cooperating on various academic matters since 2006. Through the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding between Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, Chancellor of CUD and Mr. Patrick Molle, President of EMLYON, on January 20, 2012 at the CUD campus in Dubai. The parties will extend their current relationship to specifically explore new opportunities for partnership and cooperation between their respective MBA programs. Key to the multi-faceted agreement will be: The launch of a new partnership model to deliver EMLYON’s innovative Master of Science in Luxury Management and Marketing; cooperation in EMLYON’s Global Executive MBA aimed at finessing the skills of senior executives; and the development of a joint International MBA that will be conferred by both CUD and EMLYON.

Under all initiatives, students will have the potential to travel abroad to places like Geneva, Lyon and Shanghai for a portion of their studies. Also, EMLYON students will have the opportunity to study in Dubai, one of the most dynamic business environments in the world today. This new partnership will complement CUD’s current offering of several MBA degrees, all fully accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

According to Mr. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, Chancellor of CUD, the signing of this agreement underlines the key to successful education in today’s environment. “Students of the 21st century understand the benefits of mobility in their studies. This partnership will create direct links between Europe, the Middle East and Canada, preparing students to enter the increasingly globalized workforce.’

As stated by President Patrick Molle of EMLYON, “this strategic agreement for EMLYON Business School will contribute to the education of a new breed of leaders required by today’s competitive world – leaders that are well trained, open to the world, creative and politically astute. Students who experience learning in different regions of the world are able to develop their agility to work in and be respectful of different business cultures and environments”.

“The fact that one of the top business schools in the world has partnered with CUD’s MBA program is an attestation of the high quality it has achieved. The innovative approaches that will be encompassed within this agreement will continue to propel CUD as a leader in graduate business education in the UAE and the region”, says Pr. Karim Chelli, President of CUD.
