CUD ANNOUNCES 25 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR EMIRATI WOMEN

Canadian University Dubai announces 25 Scholarships for Emirati Women
At Women of Excellence Conference in Abu Dhabi

At the “Emirati Women of Excellence Conference – The Future is Now,” held In Abu Dhabi on Tuesday Sept 26, 2017, delegates heard that education is the key for all Emirati women and would open endless doors of opportunity for their futures.

The conference was attended by women from all over the UAE where delegates at the event were addressed by students from CUD who spoke about the importance of pursuing university studies regardless of age or circumstances.

Student Affairs Officer, Amal Darwish Al Zarooni who started her studies at the age of 31 referred to the challenges she faced stating “I wanted to prove not only to myself but to others that I could achieve my dreams. You just have to be strong enough to manage your studies, your work and your home.” After graduating at 34, it is now Amal’s wish in the future to pursue her studies further at Masters and PhD levels.

Architecture student Alyaziyeh Abdulla Shebab Thani, an Architecture student; spoke of the challenges she faced regarding funding for her studies. She referred to the encouragement she received from her family when she faced obstacles in her path saying “I hope that in future that scholarships become available to all Emirati women so they do not have an excuse to give up their Education.”

Coming on the heels of her wishful statement, the Canadian University Dubai, announced during the activities of the Conference, that it will be offering 25 scholarships exclusively for Emirati women as a doorway for them to either start or resume their university education. There will also be a Discount for Masters Programs.

It is worth noting that Al Zarooni was selected among the outstanding students from the Canadian University Dubai to meet His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
