February 28, 2018 CUD Red Theatre: Ms. Khadija Jetha, International Recruitment Coordinator from the University of Alberta (UAlberta), paid a visit to CUD while on a recruitment tour of Universities in the UAE and we availed of the opportunity to have her come and talk to our students.
Khadija highlighted the universities multicultural, diverse and welcoming community. She outlined the history of the university which was founded in 1867. UAlberta have over 200 Bachelor and 170 Masters Programmes. She presented a list of the Programmes available at UAlberta and described entry requirements and the admissions process. Khadija expressed the hope that while not yet partnered with CUD, this would soon change and Mr. Sid Attou of CUD reported that links with UAlberta were being actively explored.
Based on the Times Higher Education Rankings, the University of Alberta is one of four Canadian Universities in the world ranked in the top 100. Alberta features at 90th. They are ranked 11th in the world for international recruitment based on the QS Employability Ranking and have the highest graduate employability rate in Canada. With just under 40,000 students they are also one of the largest universities in Canada.
UAlberta alumnus Joe Clark, former Prime Minister of Canada was one of the first recipients of a CUD Honorary degree.
After the presentation a number of students interested in UAlberta spent some time with Khadija who reported she was impressed by the quality of those she met.
