Dr. Makki holds a PhD in Computer Science Education from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, an MSc in Mathematics Computer Applications from the University of Texas, USA.
He has taught extensively at Universities throughout the region for over 20 years and serves as Acting Dean of the College of Information Technology at the American University of the Emirates.
Dr. Makki has served as Director of Training for the National Computer Center for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq, and as the General Director of the Iraqi Commission for Computers and Informatics.
Dr. Makki has supervised over 35 postgraduate theses and remains actively involved in research activities. His research interests are in computer applications, system design and statistical analysis, and his publications include:
