Spanish for beginners (A1 level) equips you with the ability to use a basic range of the most common, simple expressions in the Spanish language. The knowledge acquired in our 30-hour courses will allow you to satisfy immediate conversational needs such as meeting people, ordering food, expressing the feelings, booking hotel accommodation, talking about your likes and dislikes, talking about habits, describing places etc.
The four main communication skills, reading, writing, speaking and listening are covered and will reflect Spanish language and culture through class discussions.
This course is designed to introduce students to the language and to prepare them to take DELE A1 DELE (aka. Diplomasde Españolcomo Lengua Extranjera), an official Diploma issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education
Who teaches this course?
This course is taught by Dr. María Gómez-Amich, who holds a Ph.D. in Languages and Translation, a Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, and a second Master’s degree in Intercultural Communication.
Dr. Gómez-Amich is a native DELE examiner, fully accredited by the Instituto Cervantes. She has over 10-year experience in foreign language education.
Dr. Gómez-Amich has taught Spanish language, culture, translation, and literature at Florida International University in the United States, and at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She currently teaches Spanish language, culture and literature in Dubai.
