Transfer of Credit

Transfer Policy for Undergraduate Programs

Canadian University Dubai permits the admission of applicants transferring from other institutions, subject to the following conditions:

  • Transfer is from a recognized institution of higher education;
  • You meet Canadian University Dubai admission requirements;
  • You submit a certified copy of their grade transcript and a detailed outline of their courses;
  • You have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from the previous institution of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or its equivalent.

Transfer credits are subject to the following conditions:

  • Passing the course with at least a C grade; and,
  • The course outline is similar to a corresponding course in the relevant program at CUD.

Please note:
Transferred credit hours will not be considered in the computation of GPA at CUD. The maximum number of credits a student may transfer can not exceed 50% of the total number of credits required for graduation.

An initial non-refundable fee is applicable for the first assessment and an associated fee will apply for each additional approved transfer credit. Prospective students should first complete an online application here and upload their course descriptions and transcripts from their previous institution as additional documents.

Once an application is received and processed the credit transfer decision will take approximately 2-3 weeks. Also note that the number of courses that will be accepted and the credits that will be transferred is not guaranteed.

Transfer Policy for Graduate Programs

Canadian University Dubai permits the admission of applicants transferring from other institutions, subject to the following conditions:

  • You meet the requirements for admission to CUD;
  • You submit a certified copy of their grade transcript and a detailed outline of their courses; and,
  • You have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from the previous institution of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or its equivalent;

Transfer credits are subject to the following conditions:

  • Passing the course with at least a B grade; and,
  • The course outline is similar to a corresponding course in the relevant program at CUD.

Please note:
Transferred credit hours will not be considered in the computation of GPA at CUD. The maximum number of credits a student may transfer can not exceed 6 credits towards the total number required for graduation.
