Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship

Job Role

Faculty must serve as the program subject matter experts and assist the Chair/Coordinator on the ongoing operation of the academic program; ensure accredited curriculum is implemented in accordance with the academic standards of the university and in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs.   Faculty members are expected to teach a full course load as per Teaching Load Policy which includes procedure for teaching load reduction for research and/or community outreach. Furthermore, Faculty members are required to participate actively to Departmental or University committees. 

Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop, deliver, review and update media businesses/enterprise and creative industries undergraduate courses.
  • Participate in subject group meetings, and attend meetings
  • Engage in commercial, media, outreach, research, and innovation activities
  • Promote the University’s Entrepreneurship Business Incubator Program and foster university-industry collaborations with relevant industries.
  • Work as an academic student advisor, invigilate exams, represent CUD at various student recruitment events, and conduct other academic administrative responsibilities.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Engage with theoretical and practical constructs in Entrepreneurship, or Small Business in diverse industry contexts (ideally, creative industries).
  • Sufficient breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in Entrepreneurship, Small Business, and/or Business in the Creative Industries
  • Professional business start-up experience or employment in the creative industries.

Education

  • MSc or PhD degree in Entrepreneurship or a related area to Creative Industries
  • Current membership of a relevant professional body is preferred
  • Degree from an internationally reputable University is preferred
  • Canadian Affiliation and Work Experience is preferred
