Canadian University Dubai encourages students to use the materials that are available in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) for independent learning, research needs or personal improvement. The LRC provides access to its myriad electronic resources and loan of materials to all Canadian University Dubai students, faculty and staff.

The Learning Resource Centre is located on the ground floor of Building A. It houses a print collection of over 13,600 items consisting of books, journals, newspapers, and a wide range of electronic resources: access to over 38,000 e‐journals, over 170,000 e‐books, over 369,000 Company Reports, and Data, access to country reports, Thesis and Dissertations, Conference proceedings, videos, and other electronic resources. These electronic resources are accessible on and off-campus 24/7.

The LRC holds a series of information literacy events for all university students and faculty. Canadian University Dubai LRC has an agreement with the British Library that provides inter-library loan whenever information required by the students and faculty is not available within the LRC resources.

The LRC uses the Library of Congress Classification System. Computers and Wi‐Fi connections are available on the premises.

Computers, Photocopier, and Printer

The LRC computers have access to the internet for research and printing purposes for CUD LRC users. Students can reload their printing and photocopying credits from the Printing Centre. Reload balance cards can be purchased at 20AED. The university ID card is required to operate the photocopier machine.


The CUD LRC abides by the UAE Federal Law No. 7 of 2002 Concerning Copyrights and Neighboring Rights and by the International copyright law.

Borrowing Procedure and Policies

Students are entitled to borrow 7 items at a time for the duration of two weeks. Borrowed item(s) are renewable depending on demand. All users must present their University ID upon borrowing.

General collection

These materials can be borrowed for the duration of two weeks (14 days) and can be renewed.

Course Reserve Materials

These are course textbooks or reading materials that are required for the current semester and for LRC use only. A University student ID card must be presented at the circulation desk for borrowing.


These can be borrowed for the duration of two weeks (14 days) and can be renewed.


Overdue fines of 2AED per day per item will be levied on all late returned borrowed items.
