University News

Welcome Back from Spring Break!

Spring break is over, and it's back to classes, quizzes and dreading final exams! We hope you've had a chance to revitalize and are ready to get right back into the swing of your regular routine; but it can be challenging to get back in the habit of studying after vacation. Here are a few tips that might help ease back in and gear up for the rest of the semester:

  • Study smart
Final exams can tend to sneak up on you. Studying smart is just as important as studying hard. Pick a time of the day you are your most productive, and focus on your more challenging courses first.

  • Take short breaks
Treat yourself to a short break once every couple of hours while studying; walk around or grab a snack. Research shows short breaks can actually help you get more from your study sessions.

  • Keep active
Did you know that physical activity makes your brain sharper and more focused? Sports week is right around the corner so it's a great time to squeeze in a fun work out.

Interior Design student's project ranks amongst top four at INDEX 2013

We are very proud of our fourth year Interior Design student Ayesha Gheewale (left), who recently participated in the International Design Exhibition 2013 (INDEX); one of the largest exhibitions of its kind in the region.

This year INDEX invited design professionals to rethink the "Majlis" design through a contemporary, avantgarde and green perspective.

Ayesha's project was guided by faculty member Mr. Serkan Gunay and went on to be selected as one of the top four finalists of the exhibition (visual below).

There will be two separate categories of winners at INDEX 2013; one winner will be selected by a panel of expert judges and a second award will be presented to the most popular entry.

The 'Peoples' Choice' award will be decided by visitors to the INDEX International Design exhibition through public vote. Winners will be announced on the final day of the exhibition and we wish Ayesha best of luck!
