Canadian Immigration Lawyer Demystifies Complexities of Transferring to Canada

Ms. Julie Beeton, a noted Canadian immigration lawyer and founder of immigration and education consultancy Beeton & Co provided valuable tips on studying and migrating to Canada at an interactive ‘Transfer to Canada’ Information Session held at the Red Theatre of Canadian University Dubai.

A larger number of students listened with rapt attention to the rules and regulations on transferring to Canada as the Dubai-based immigration lawyer highlighted the value and advantages of Canadian education, including the presence of top colleges and universities, lower tuition fees and living expenses, multicultural environment, healthy and safe surroundings, rich campus life and supportive immigration program.

Ms. Beeton provided a rough estimate of average annual tuition fees and living expenses, and gave a broad outline of the Canadian taxation system, including taxes on goods as well as income tax. She also gave an overview of Canada’s publicly funded healthcare system.

Ms. Beeton answered a host of questions on admission criteria, transfer of credits, accommodation, living expenses and job opportunities.

Earlier, Sid Attou, International Education Liaison, described Canadian University Dubai as the portal to Canadian Education and highlighted the many advantage of transferring to Canada.

He said that CUD has partnered with a host of reputed Canadian universities to enable CUD students to transition into a quality education environment, including in universities like Brock University, University of New Brunswick, Vancouver Island University, Lakehead University, University of Ontario, etc.

He informed the audience that CUD was in the process of adding 40 new programs, and was in talks with more Canadian partner universities. He also spoke about exchange programs, in partnership with different Canadian universities.

Students who attended the event showed a keen interest in learning more about transferring to Canada and living in Canada and expressed their satisfaction over the manner in which information was delivered by the speakers.
