February 7th, 2017: Faculty members from the School of Engineering, Applied Science & Technology at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) are taking leading roles in the 13th International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing (IWCMC) Conference, to be held in Valencia, Spain from June 26th to 30th this year.
Associate Professor Dr. Adel Ben Mnaouer and Assistant Professor Dr. Ons Bouachir will act as workshop chairs on the theme ‘Energy Efficient Networking, Platforms, Systems and Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) an Internet of Things (IoT)’. A call for papers has been issued to bring forward research surrounding Energy-harvesting Wireless Sensor Networks (EH-WSNs).
Meanwhile, Associate Professors Dr. Emad Eldin Mohamed, Dr. Driss Guerchi and Dr. Mohammed Al Akhras, along with Assistant Professors, Dr. Sherif Moussa and Dr. Anas Najdawi, will be among the members of the technical program committee.
The conference is being held under the theme, ‘Plethora Communications’, and will cover a wide range of topics relating to wireless networks, wireless communications, and mobile computing. The workshop, to be chaired by CUD faculty in collaboration with academics from Qatar University and the University of Brescia, builds upon research conducted by Dr. Mnaouer in collaboration with these two institutions.
Funded by the Qatar National Research Foundation, Dr. Mnaouer has participated in three research projects exploring the application of wireless sensor networks in ubiquitous mobile healthcare monitoring, air quality monitoring, and physical structure monitoring. The IWCMC conference call for papers invites contributions on networking platforms, systems or protocols that are energy-efficient, context-aware and supportive of EH-WSNs.
