Dr. Aseel Takshe holds a B.S. in Environmental Health from the American University of Beirut, an M.S. in Environmental Sciences from the American University of Beirut, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics and Management from the University of York, United Kingdom. Following the completion of her Ph.D. degree, Aseel held a Postdoctoral Research post at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. Her research investigated the effectiveness of environmental legislation and policy during times of conflict. Her primary research interest is the effect of conflict on the environment in the Middle East, Gulf, and North Africa. Environmental impacts and hardships that were imposed on the region during conflict endure long after conflicts end. Secondarily, Takshe is interested in the long-term health consequences of observed environmental changes. The environment, ecosystem, and atmosphere were victims, and humans suffer indirectly from those environmental consequences of wars. Moreover, Aseel has streamlined and led devising and executing process of QHSE programmes based on emerging comprehensive research/conditions to ensure occupational health/safety of employees and workplace in both private and public institutions.
