i. General Admission Requirements for Graduate Programs
Completion of a recognized Bachelor's degree in a discipline appropriate for the Graduate Program of admission choice. A Higher Education Diploma is not equivalent to a Bachelor's degree and does not qualify an applicant for admission to a Graduate program.
The general admission requirements applicable to all graduate programs are as follows:
- A minimum cumulative CGPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale or its established equivalent in the applicant's Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum score of 1400 on the English Language portion of the EmSAT examination or its equivalent on other national or internationally recognized tests that are approved by the CAA, such as a TOEFL score of 550 (213 CBT, 79 iBT), or 6.0 IELTS academic.
- Students who have completed undergraduate education in an English medium institution might be allowed admission into a graduate program without demonstrating a TOEFL 550 score of 550 (or equivalent). This exemption can apply only to those students who undertook all their schooling (K-12) and a Bachelor's degree in English in a reference English-speaking country (e.g. UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand).
ii. MScAI Program-Specific Admission Requirements
In addition to the general admission requirements, prospective applicants seeking admission to the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program are required to possess a relevant undergraduate degree. Acceptable qualifications include, but are not limited to, the following specializations:
- Bachelor of Computer Science or its equivalent.
- Bachelor of Engineering or its equivalent.
- Bachelor of Information Technology or its equivalent.
- Bachelor of Mathematics or its equivalent.
If an applicant does not hold a baccalaureate degree in any specialization – Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Mathematics, or their equivalents – the applicant must pass a non-credit remedial course titled “MAI 501-Programming for AI Applications”.
Students enrolled in a non-credit remedial course are allowed one academic year to pass the course, after which a successful student may be fully admitted to the MScAI program, and an unsuccessful student who has not completed the course will leave the institution.
CUD allows graduate students to register for credit-bearing courses in a graduate program only after they have successfully completed non-credit remedial courses if required.
The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MScAI) program will be offered in the CUD Campus in a full-time regular study mode for 4 semesters (2 Years).
The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MScAI) degree shall be awarded to a student upon completing the following requirements:
- A student enrolled in MScAI program must have passed thirty-three (33) credit hours.
- A student must achieve a CGPA of not less than 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 points.
- A student must have earned at least 75% of credits at CUD.
- The thesis must be completed at CUD.
