ADIT overview
The Advanced Diploma in International TAXATION (ADIT), is an advanced level designation in cross-border tax. Designed by a board of world-leading experts, it has been created to provide a robust foundation in international tax that today’s professional needs to stand out from the crowd. The ADIT examination +
To achieve the ADIT qualification, students are required to complete the Principles of International Taxation module plus two further modules chosen from the Jurisdictional or Thematic options (an extended essay may be completed in place of one of the optional modules).

Exam Requirements: +
- The qualification is in modular form and is awarded when all stages have been completed.
- All modules may be sat at one examination sitting over three days or separately.
- The entire qualification must be completed within five years.
- Exams are held twice a year. All modules are examined each June. The most popular modules are also examined in December.
- Each exam is 3 hours plus 15 minutes reading time, in length.
- The pass mark for each paper is 50% and results are released in August and February.
Online Exams +
To provide flexibility to ADIT exam candidates, ADIT exams are delivered online and can be attended from anywhere around the world.
How to Attend Online Exams? +
Sitting online exams, you'll use a purpose-built exam application, Exam4, on your laptop or desktop computer. You will be able to download Exam4 four weeks before your exam, and practice using it with a past ADIT exam paper. On exam day, you will attend the exam at a location of your choice, such as your home or office.
When you complete your exam entry, we will still ask you to specify where you plan to sit your exams as this will determine your local start time.
You will need to select your location from the list of cities on the exam entry form or, if your location is not listed, select 'Other' and email us at education@adit.org to let us know where you plan to sit your exams.
ADIT Registration Fees payable to CIOT: +
- Student Registration fee: £242
- Exam entry fee (per exam) *: £222
- Extended Essay registration fee: £222
Cooling off period If your situation changes, you may cancel your ADIT registration within one month of the date you submitted your application. You will be refunded via your payment method, minus a £15 administration fee. To cancel your registration, you must inform CIOT in writing.
*Exam entries received during the late entry period will be subject to an additional £100 late fee.
Certificates +
A full ADIT Qualification Certificate is issued automatically and free of charge to each student who successfully achieves the ADIT qualification, upon completion of the student's final exam. In addition, ADIT students to demonstrate expertise in the subject (s) examined may apply for:
- Modular Certificate if they have passed both the Principles of International Taxation module and any one of the sixteen available option modules.
- Standalone Certificate if they have passed either Principles of International Taxation or one thematic option module (Transfer Pricing Module).
The fee for each standalone certificate is £60, including special or courier delivery by CIOT.
Key Dates for June 2025 ADIT exam session: +
- 1st of March 2025: Student registration deadline
- 15th of March 2025: Student registration deadline (entries received after this date are subject to £103 late entry fee)
- 29th of March 2025: Final date for late entries
- 10-12th of June 2025: Exams take place
- 21st of August 2025: Notification of results via email
Transfer Pricing Module – Short Course Review
This module gives you the required knowledge, skills and understanding of the fundamentals of transfer pricing, based on the OECD and UN models, that you need to succeed in your career. You will gain detailed knowledge of functional analysis, the arm’s length principle, comparability, compliance issues, dispute resolution and avoiding double taxation. The Transfer Pricing module is aimed at professionals around the world, particularly to tax advisers, professionals working with multinational corporations and in-house tax practitioners at large corporate firms. ADIT is suitable for senior level professionals, managers or those working towards a senior level.

Kindly note the ADIT exam entry deadline: Tuesday, 16 September 2025. Please note that it is your own responsibility to register and pay directly for the ADIT examinations with the CIOT.

Gaspar Lopes Dias, Partner Taxand Cyprus, Transfer Pricing specialist, LLB (civil law), LL.M, ADIT
Gaspar has experience in a broad range of transfer pricing and international tax matters including financial operations, business reorganizations and IP structuring, advising multinationals in various industries and investment funds. He joined Taxand Cyprus in 2021 from the tax practice of Baker & McKenzie in London, having previously worked at Loyens & Loeff in Luxembourg, and KPMG Belgium. Gaspar holds an LLB civil law (Nova University Lisbon), LLM International Tax (Tilburg University), MSc Taxation (University of Oxford), ADIT member UK CIOT, and is an IFA member (UK Branch). Gaspar followed the advanced transfer pricing courses of ITC Leiden and WU. Gaspar has contributed to transfer pricing publications such as the BNA Transfer Pricing Forum and is a frequent speaker on transfer pricing and international tax subjects, having recently presented at the Rust Conference in Austria, at the IBFD in Amsterdam and in Mozambique.
Costas Savva, Partner, VAT and Corporate Tax
Costas Savva has considerable experience in advising on international tax law and corporate tax issues. He focuses his practice on the tax aspects of inbound and outbound business operations with a strong track record in cross-border investment structures and structured finance. Costas also specializes in Transfer Pricing, with experience in a broad range of transfer pricing matters. He advises on financial transactions (e.g., cash pool, debt pricing) and intragroup services. Costas holds an LLB. from Frederick University and a Master of Laws (LLM.) in International Taxation from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) in Austria. He is a qualified fellow member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC). He was trained by KPMG Cyprus, where he later served as a senior manager at the Nicosia office. Costas serves as the Cypriot correspondent of the IBFD holding regime. He is also the co-author of the book Limiting Base Erosion edited by Professor Michael Lang. He regularly publishes on a wide variety of tax topics.
