CUD Lecturer Presents at Tesol Arabia 2017

March 27th, 2017: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) lecturer, Ms. Claire Roberts, has shared her expertise in overcoming the challenges of Academic English tuition, during the annual TESOL Arabia International Conference and Exhibition, held recently in Dubai.

Ms. Roberts, a full-time lecturer in English, Business and General Education at CUD, presented her findings in the PechaKucha 20x20 format. Displaying 20 images, each for 20 seconds, she provided her insights on how to overcome the challenges experiences by university students in Academic English courses by engaging them in major-specific materials and encouraging learning autonomy in the classroom.

Now in its 23rd year, the TESOL Arabia Conference has become the ‘must-attend’ event for professionals in the field of English Language Teaching across the Middle East. The largest gathering of its kind in the region, it brings together professionals who use English as a medium of instruction, to promote professional development and support the maintenance of excellence in teaching and administration.

CUD lecturer Ms. Dima Yousif is a member of the TESOL Arabia Committee and was this year responsible for organizing the PechaKucha sessions of the conference.
