October 4, 2017: Organized by Ms. Orsi Urban our CUD Work Placement and Careers Coordinator, leading Consultancy Company Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) conducted a “Campus Careers Conference.”
Ms. Amanda Abraham of PWC outlined purpose of the event explaining what it’s like to work for a Major Organization like PWC. At the end of the presentation, interviews were held to appoint two CUD students who will become Campus Ambassadors. They will join the PWC Talent Academy and promote PWC within the University whilst at the same time developing the skills necessary for the workplace.
Speaking after the event, Ms. Abraham stressed the importance of instilling in students an understanding of Emotional Intelligence and effective communication in the workplace. The benefit to CUD students will be the unique opportunity to develop those skills and using PWC’s experience of the behavior of Graduate students in the workplace, they will develop a range of Soft Skills and therefore create a better workforce environment in the UAE.
Ms. Orsi Urban was excited to see such an overwhelming student participation in the event with 72 students signing on for the experience. She looked forward to further workshops run by PWC, details will be published in advance.
Ismael Jaleel, one of our Alumni, graduating with a BBA in Marketing, said he was very motivated and excited about the event and was glad to see CUD opening its doors to such a prestigious Organization as PWC. The event was well structured and demonstrated a clear career path for CUD students within PWC.
