CUD holds Canadian Education Event

February 25, Red Theatre: Students and faculty attended a conference on transfer opportunities to Canada.

Several speakers took part both from CUD and outside.

Mr. Emilio Giuliani outlined both current and proposed University Programmes detailing the admission requirements for each and the Admissions process for entry to CUD.

Mr. Sid Attou, International Education liaison spoke about transfer opportunities to Canada. He outlined the advantages of a Canadian education giving a Quick Facts summary featuring affordability, quality of education, safety, employment opportunities and visa requirements.

He detailed the existing Canadian Universities where we have transfer agreements and outlined the Programmes available in each and also the opportunities to study English during the Summer. He also spoke about admission requirements for these Universities.

Julie Beeton, Assistant Professor in CUD and a Canadian Immigration Lawyer spoke about entry and residency requirements for Canada outlining permanent residency requirements and the criteria for the Express Entry and the associated scoring system giving examples for different individuals and referring to both National and Provincial requirements.

The conference was held twice during the day and both times were followed up by lively and informative Q&A sessions.
