Biography
Dr. M. Erdem Coskun is an expert in Operations Research, Mathematical Optimization, and Supply Chain Analytics, with research focusing on logistics, distribution, reverse supply chains, facility location, selection and allocation problems. He earned his B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul, Turkey, and completed both his M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computational Science and Engineering at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, specializing in Data Analytics, Data Mining, Mathematical Programming, and Optimization for Supply Chain and Logistics systems. With over a decade of experience in academia and industry, he has worked in the retail, finance, insurance, and e-commerce sectors as a Senior Data Scientist, Internal Consultant, and Senior Program Manager, applying advanced analytics and optimization to complex real-world problems. Dr. Coskun has taught a wide range of courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Distribution Systems, Data Mining, Data Analytics, and Machine Learning for Business Applications, with a teaching approach that emphasizes bridging theory with industry practice. He has published in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to research grants and industry contracts, and is actively involved in professional organizations in operations research and applied analytics.
