July 27th, 2015: The professional insights of Canadian University Dubai (CUD) interior design professor, Ms. Sophie Johnson, have been featured in two of the region’s leading industry magazines this month.
Following her recent workshop at the Index Design Talks, Johnson was asked to share her expertise in the world of materials with business publication, Commercial Interior Design (CID). Dubbed ‘the essential guide for Middle East interior design professionals’, the July edition of the magazine features Johnson’s insights on whether the aesthetics of an interior can impact upon its users.
In the article she explains, “Materials inherently give a building a feeling, a place in history and a style by which it will be recognized. Understanding and thoughtful incorporation of materials give a physical presence to the imagination of designers.”
Alongside her feature in CID, Johnson also contributed to an article in Qatar-based BQ Magazine on the emerging trends of interior design in the region. Together with other recognized experts in the field, Johnson was asked to join the debate on the key challenges for this growing sector.
