Biography
Dr. Said Elnaffar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Computational Sciences, at Canadian University Dubai, and also serves as the Chair of the Software Design Program. He holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Queen’s University in Canada. Dr. Elnaffar won the IBM PhD Fellowship Award and served as a Research Associate at the Centre of Advanced Studies (CAS) of IBM Canada. With a diverse academic background, he has previous experience from institutions such as UAE University, American University in Ras al Khaimah, and American University in the Emirates. Dr. Elnaffar is renowned for his engaging teaching methods, winning him the Best Teaching Award and recognition for the Best Research paper in Computing Education.
His research, funded by various governmental agencies and industrial firms, is published in esteemed international journals and IEEE/ACM Conferences. Additionally, he has played key roles in organizing and serving on program committees for conferences and workshops. Dr. Elnaffar's entrepreneurial drive is evident through his contributions to firms with industrial consultation and professional training. He has several industrial certifications from IT giants like Google and IBM, focusing on contemporary fields such as machine learning, data science, and software engineering and development.
