Biography

Ms. Johnson is currently pursuing her PhD at the Royal College of Art, London where she previously undertook a Master’s in design history. She also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Ravensbourne, London.

Prior to joining CUD, Ms. Johnson held academic positions in London’s leading design universities, including Associate Senior Lecturer at Ravensbourne, London, Associate Lecturer at University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins and Wimbledon Campus and Lecturer at UEL. She also has extensive experience in industry as an Interior Consultant, Freelance Researcher, Stylist and Designer.

Ms. Johnson has conducted research in the areas of community architecture, public and private sector housing within the UK. Her current focus is domesticity within the UAE, from both a tangible and intangible perspective. Using the interior as a line of inquiry, to open up our understanding of ordinary domestic practices.
