ICLIE 2016

Organized by Canadian University Dubai, the International Conference on Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship as driving forces of the Global Economy (ICLIE 2016) was held at Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, UAE on April 20th to 22nd, 2016.

The three-day conference provided a platform for debate on some of the key themes addressed in UAE Vision 2021, the country’s strategic development plan, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in particular, the drive towards a competitive economy, built upon the pillars of innovation, research, science and technology.

The purpose of ICLIE 2016 was to facilitate the dissemination and exchange of ideas among researchers, students, policy makers and practitioners on some of the current technology, innovation, sustainability, and business concerns, in order to promote a better understanding of these issues and develop solutions to the challenges emerging in the globalized economy. The conference proceedings are published and indexed by Springer Publishing.

Among the keynote speakers were HE Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, former Prime Minister of Malaysia; and Professor Benoit Montreuil, a world-renowned scientist leading the pioneering International Physical Internet Initiative.

ICLIE 2016 included five tracks:

  • Track 1: Technology, Innovations and Sustainability
  • Track 2: Contemporary Leadership and Management
  • Track 3: Creative International Entrepreneurship and Small Business
  • Track 4: New Trends in Global Economics, Finance, and Management
  • Track 5: Islamic Banking and Finance
