July, 2026, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE): Psychology students from the Canadian University Dubai (CUD) developed practical clinical skills through structured simulated interviews in a two-way mirror observation suite designed to recreate realistic clinical scenarios.
Led by a cross-functional academic team (School of Psychology-CUD), the simulated learning activity gave students the opportunity to conduct interviews while their peers observed and evaluated their performance from this dedicated observation suite. The approach enabled students to explore effective communication techniques, reflect on their performance, and learn by observing their classmates.
By combining simulation, peer observation, and reflection, the experience supported the development of empathy, critical thinking, effective communication, and professional confidence. It also helped students connect classroom knowledge with its practical application in behavioral science and mental healthcare practice.
The activity reflects CUD’s commitment to experiential learning and preparing students to apply their academic knowledge with confidence, sensitivity, and professionalism.
