Business Students Triumph in Battle of the Schools 2

Sunday, February 1st, 2015: Students from the five undergraduate schools at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) went up against each other in a battle of brainpower at the second edition of the Battle of the Schools competition.

Participants were challenged to answer questions relating to their study major, with the opportunity to steal the glory from their competitors if they answered their questions incorrectly. Wrong answers were penalized with dares, which saw students doing impressions and taking on mental and physical challenges to entertain the audience.

As an added twist, the competition saw faculty members and staff representing the Schools of Business Administration, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Applied Science and Technology, Environment and Health Sciences, and Architecture and Interior Design, suffer the consequences of their students’ incorrect answers, having to take themselves to the dare board if their team got the steal wrong.

Twenty students began the Battle of the Schools but as the competition drew to a close there were only eight survivors, between the School of Architecture and the School of Business, with a difference of only one point between them. After a tense finale, the Business students were crowned competition winners.

Organized by the Student Affairs team, the challenge aimed to bring together students to work as a team and recognize their talents in a fun, competitive environment. The competition was one of a number of events organized by Student Affairs to greet new and returning students for the Spring 2015 semester.
