June 16, 2026, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE): Canadian University Dubai (CUD) was represented at EURAM 2026, the Annual Conference of the European Academy of Management, held from June 16–19, 2026, at the University of Agder (UiA) School of Business and Law in Kristiansand, Norway, under the theme "Navigating High Waters: Managing in an Age of Disruption."
Ms. Olga Starkova, Lecturer, School of Management, Canadian University Dubai, presented a research paper titled “Entrepreneurial University Development in the Gulf Cooperation Council Region: A Stakeholder Perspective.” The paper was co-authored by Mrs. Gayatri Nair, AFHEA, Lecturer, School of Management, Canadian University Dubai; Dr. Raihan Taqui Syed, Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship, College of Business & Economics, United Arab Emirates University; and Dr. Komal Desai, Postdoctoral Research Associate in Entrepreneurship, College of Business & Economics, United Arab Emirates University.
The research explored how internal dynamics within universities, examined through the McKinsey 7S Framework, shape the development of entrepreneurial universities across the UAE and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
Key findings highlighted the importance of translating entrepreneurial vision into practice, streamlining institutional systems, fostering a culture of experimentation, and empowering staff through dedicated development programs.
The study offers both theoretical contributions and practical implications for higher education institutions across the region.
Reflecting on the experience, Ms. Olga Starkova said:
