First year Architecture student, Alyazya Abdullah, was recently interviewed on Sama Dubai TV’s popular “The World of Family” program about her achievements and what motivates her to be a good student.
Alyazya was chosen to appear on the program because of her participation in the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority‘s (DEWA) Ruwad Initiative, which saw 20 Emirati youths travel to Singapore for 6 days, as well as her academic achievements, which includes awards from the Ministry of Education (MOE) for her knowledge of history and a paper she wrote about the “UAE’s Edison,” high grades and a scholarship from the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, who also invited her to give a speech at a celebration held to honor scholarship students.
As part of the Ruwad Initiative, which was designed to encourage creativity in orphans, Alyazya attended workshops in Singapore on leadership and business skills. She also volunteered at a home for the elderly.
