November 14th, 2016: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) and the Society of Engineers UAE (SOE-UAE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a new strategic collaboration between the two organizations.
The partnership was sealed at an official signing ceremony, conducted by CUD President and Vice Chancellor, Pr. Karim Chelli, and SOE-UAE President, Eng. Dawoud Al Hajri. The ceremony took place at the 41st Conference on Local Computer Networks, convened by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Computer Society in collaboration with CUD.
The new agreement aims to develop and progress learning opportunities for both student and professional engineers, and to create a platform for the entire sector to advance academic and workplace proficiencies.
The recent MoU builds upon existing cooperation between CUD and SOE-UAE. Led by Mr. Florian Techel, Assistant Professor in CUD’s School of Architecture and Design, the University has previously forged collaborations with SOE-UAE to advance the pioneering Building Information Modeling paradigm across the sector in the Emirates.
The agreement was signed in the presence of conference delegates, the CUD senior management team, and SOE-UAE board members, as well as the organization’s Vice President, Eng. Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, and General Secretary, Eng. Mohamed Mashroom.
