CUD Joins National Dignitaries at UAE Heritage Festival

February 16th, 2016: Representatives from Canadian University Dubai (CUD) have joined dignitaries from across the UAE at the closing ceremony of the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Heritage Festival 2016, organized by the Emirates Heritage Club.

In response to an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President’s Representative and Chairman of the Emirates Heritage Club, CUD’s Dr. Rachid Benalmri, Vice President, Academic Affairs; Mr. Brian Banford, Executive Director, Student Recruitment and Community Outreach; Mr. Hadj Attou, Sponsorship Coordinator; and Ms. Amal Al Zarooni, Students Advisor, attended the event on behalf of the University.

The Heritage Festival is an annual event that showcases the UAE’s rich culture through traditional activities that celebrate the country’s heritage and customs. During the ceremony, the CUD delegation had the opportunity to visit the heritage exhibition, attend a banquet with HH Sheikh Sultan, watch traditional camel racing, and attend the prize-giving ceremony that recognized the winners of the festival competitions.

Speaking on behalf of the CUD attendees, Mr. Hadj Attou said that it was a great honour for the University to be represented at the festival and to be among the dignities invited to celebrate the heritage of the UAE.
