E-business Faculty and Students Come Together for Meet and Greet Event

February 23rd, 2016: Students and faculty from across the Bachelor of Business Administration e-Business stream have come together for a special event to promote learning and collaboration among participants of the program.

The event gathered members across all years of the course, from new to graduating students, to share their experiences and discuss new ways to work together, learn from each other, and pursue challenges and experiences that will help them in their future careers.

The meet and greet was organized by Dr. Anas Najdawi, Assistant Professor and Chair of the e-Business program. He opened the event with an introduction to the opportunities for extracurricular involvement available to students during their studies, including the Dubai Customs website design competition, which was won by an e-Business team from CUD in 2015.

Dr. Najdawi went on to discuss the benefits of the program and the wide range of career opportunities that would be available to students, saying, “e-Business graduates are in a strong position in the job market because of their combination of business and technology skills. You will have the ability to work in digital marketing, enterprise resource planning, business intelligence analysis, or even set up your own business in e-commerce.”

Participants in the event also heard from student Nada Al Sharidah about her experience of taking part in the Dubai Customs website design competition, and learnt more from Dr. Najdawi and other faculty about the forthcoming launch of the e-Business Club.

Among those taking part in the event was second year student Soheil Sharafat, who has already been motivated to apply his learning outside the classroom. He said, “The e-Business faculty have provided a huge amount of inspiration and encouragement to take part in this year’s Dubai Customs competition, alongside which, I am using the skills I have developed during the program to help develop my family business by creating an online presence. With these experiences I can see how the e-Business degree will be extremely valuable to my future career.”

The event concluded with informal networking among e-Business students and faculty members.
