June 16th, 2015: A group of students from the Canadian University Dubai (CUD) School of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology has been given exclusive access to the Dubai Police Command Centre, in a private field trip to the force’s headquarters in the City.
During the visit, the students were offered the opportunity to witness first-hand the operations of the Emergency Response Division and see the systems they have in place and the different methods of data collection used by Dubai Police to improve their efficiency.
The group enjoyed a live demonstration of the use of different CCTV and other live video streams used by the force, and found out more about how each one is used according to different scenarios.
The students also received a presentation about a new program initiated by Dubai Police to mentor all Dubai residents that have heart conditions, as well as the force’s efforts to extend this program to residents with disabilities too.
Mr. Talal Kursany of the School of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology said, “We arrange visits such as this one to Dubai Police HQ to expose students to the latest technology, in the continuous efforts of the school to keep students up-to-date with all the innovations and applications related to their field of study.”
