With immense sadness, we must share with you news of Dr. Rawa Nahhas’ passing on 24 September, 2020. For many years, she was a pillar in the Faculty of Communication, Arts and Science as an Assistant Professor, and she was a personal friend to many at Canadian University Dubai (CUD).
Dr. Nahhas accomplished impressive study, teaching and research in the areas of philosophy and psychology. Over her higher education career, Dr. Nahhas’ research followed a consistent theme towards German influence over Arabic thought. In this study, she demonstrated a passion for cultural dynamics over a historical context. Dr. Nahhas spoke Arabic, English and German.
As a valued faculty member of CUD, Dr. Nahhas was dedicated to academic excellence in her influence over her subject. She held a life-long career in education, having taught for over 20 years; with her passing goes a source of great inspiration, guidance and support for the CUD community.
