November 30th, 2015: The School of Architecture and Design at Canadian University Dubai (CUD) has recently hosted a visit from Professor of Architectural Technology, Norman Wienand, to explore future collaborations on curriculum development and student and faculty exchanges with UK-based institution, Sheffield Hallam University.
Professor Wienand, who is Head of the Natural and Built Environment Department at Sheffield Hallam, met with CUD Chair of Architecture, Mr. Steve Denyer, to discuss the potential for a collaborative program in the field of architectural technology, a discipline experiencing growing demand in the burgeoning UAE construction industry.
Sheffield Hallam University was the first to be designated a Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) Centre of Excellence and the institution delivers a range of graduate and undergraduate programs in architectural disciplines. The recent discussions also touched upon the opportunity to develop Master level programs that would provide a broad range of practical learning opportunities for students from both universities.
