October 8th, 2015: Canadian University Dubai (CUD) was the first university port of call for the stars of Virgin Radio’s breakfast show, as part of their 20 schools in 20 days tour of the UAE.
The University campus was abuzz with excitement as students, staff and faculty members welcomed DJs Kris Fade, Big Rossi, Priti Malik and the rest of the Virgin Radio team for a fun-filled hour long set featuring music, dance and a special display of CUD’s own performing talent.
After an opening routine by the Global Village dance troupe, students heard from each of the presenters about their very different routes into the media industry. Speaking about how he turned a passion into a career, breakfast show anchor and renowned DJ, Kris Fade, stressed the importance of taking every opportunity to develop work-related skills through internships and volunteering.
Following a Q&A session with the radio hosts, audience members were invited on stage to demonstrate their own flair for performance in an open talent contest that saw students and staff display their singing, dancing and acting skills in front of the broadcasting trio.
CUD was selected by popular vote to receive the visit from the radio stars, which was their first outing to a university campus as part of the hosts’ challenge to visit 20 different schools in 20 days.
