Queen's & Prince Edward Island Universities Come to CUD

Dubai, UAE, October 5, 2017: With fall classes having only just begun less than a month ago, representatives of both University of Prince Edward Island and Queen's University, Kingston visited the CUD campus to introduce their respective institutions to students with the hopes of encouraging them to make the transition to Canada to further their studies and development.

Dr. Alaa -El- Aziz, President and Vice Chancellor of the University of Prince Edward Island in Charlottetown was accompanied by Dr. Barbara Campbell, Director of Recruitment and International Business UPEI.

Dr. Aziz spoke about the advantages of studying in Canada and in particular referred to the friendly, welcoming and multi-cultural atmosphere surrounding the UPEI Campus. He spoke of the high value UPEI placed on our Exchange agreement with CUD and how it would benefit students from both campuses.

Dr. Campbell followed this by outlining the programs available and the entry criteria required for UPEI. The well attended event concluded with a Q&A session where student enquiries were addressed.

Similarly, Queen's University held a one-hour information session in the Red Theatre with Dr. Chris Coupland, Director of International Recruitment for Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario; where he spoke about the transfer agreement with CUD that allows for up to 20 students to transfer annually into the third year of Queen's University's Computing Program from the CUD Bachelor of Science Computer Networking Program. Transferring students will be allowed to complete their degree within four years with up to 57 units of credits eligible for transfer.

Transfer to Queen's will enable students to study such topics as Software Design, Game Development, Biomedical Sciences and Computing in the Creative Industries.

Dr. Coupland also referred to the diverse student population at Queen's which boasted approximately 85 nationalities and 10% hailing from overseas.
