CUD Motor Club Launch Inaugural Event

November 2, 2017 Block B Car park, CUD: CUD Motor Club; a student driven club for car enthusiasts held their first event at the University. The smell of petrol fumes filled the air and modified sound systems filled the airwaves.

The event took the form of a display of supercars including Japanese tourers, American muscle cars, Italian supercars, SUV’s and German Luxury. The show stopper was a modified Superfix BMW M3 drift car putting out an amazing 1500 BHP. The unique features of this car were its construction of a BMW chassis coupled with a Toyota Supra engine.

The Club was grateful for the attendance of Dubai Police who, not to be outdone, turned up in two Police Livery vehicles, a Bentley and McClaren.

Participants included representatives from Dubai Motoring Events, UAE Camaro Club, Team Schnell, Best Line Garage, Jeepers and Elite Auto Sports as well as our own students and alumni with their tuner cars.

A total of six awards were presented: Best Supercar - Nissan GTR; Best SUV, - Jeep wrangler from Best Line Garage; Best Luxury Car - Rolls Royce Ghost driven by one of our own students; Best Modified Car - Superfix BMW M3, Student Choice - Modified Toyota S6 owned by one of our Alumni - Ahmed Khan earning the award for its augmented speaker system. Closing the awards was the Best American Muscle Car given to Dodge Charger with a Liberty Walk Kit.

Everyone was treated to free food and beverages and the massive crowd enjoyed music throughout the evening.

Speaking after the event, Osaid Azeem, one of the organizers said that this would be the first of a series of bigger and even better events. Future plans include Regular Car Meets, Track Days, Desert Drags and Go-Karting events. There would be something for everybody who has even the slightest interest in cars.
