27th September 2018, Hall C: Senior students from the Departments of Engineering and Computational Science got together to present a warm and homely welcome party for CUD’s engineering Freshers. During the event, the engineering department wasted no time introducing their various clubs.
As the new students listened with interest, several of the seniors took the time to give short presentations about life on campus and what it takes to be a successful engineer.
The event wasn’t just about speeches and introductions. There was a dance performance, presented by the Department’s own students as well as a variety of fun activities, much of which was modelled with the theme of engineering in mind.
Throughout the event the attendees were kept well-fed and happy with free pizza and soft drinks. Everyone reported feeling welcomed, appreciated, and well-equipped to deal with the challenges that lie ahead on their path towards their degree.
The whole event would not be possible without Dr. Nekrouf Ziani and Dr. Sherif Moussa, who lead the organization effort, which was neatly carried out by the senior engineering students who got together and decided to make their new fellow students welcome.
