CUD Research on Autism Published in World Class Journal

A scientific investigation conducted by one of Canadian University Dubai’s research teams has been published in the September volume of one of the world’s most prestigious scientific journals, the International Journal of Medical Informatics (or IJMI).

With the need for improvements in diagnosis for those suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), demand for a more reliable method of identifying ASD symptoms inspired one of CUD’s research teams to undertake further research, and the result was a stunning new development.

The team managed to narrow down the most influential traits of ASD in order to produce more efficient screening methods through the use of Variable Analysis and Machine Learning techniques.

The results from extensive research have concluded that this approach was more efficient existing screening methods.

The team who contributed to the article comprised Dr. Firuz Kamalov, Dr.Fadi Thabtah, and Dr.Khairan Rajab. Dr. Kamalov stated that "Autism is a big challenge that affects not only the patients but also their family. We are happy that our research on early autism detection is helping people affected by this disorder. Being recognized by a top tier medical journal is very gratifying and inspires us to continue our efforts."
