October 2,2018, Hall B Atrium: Our students got together to celebrate their return to campus with a creative twist!
In the midst of celebration, music, strobe lights and fog machines, students appeared dressed head-to-toe in the iconic outfits of their favorite celebrities. They enjoyed walking down the long red carpet, comparing outfits and taking pictures.
During the event, organized by the Student Council, funds were raised for Dubai Cares by selling Polaroid pictures and hosting a Karaoke event.
Talking about the event, Ms. Reina Monsour, Student Life Coordinator, supervising the events, said that “it was an opportunity to welcome new and returning students, gather them in one place and help them settle in to campus life. We decided to use a Red Carpet event theme to help students express themselves with their outfits, and to help them be at home with their generation’s culture.”
Welcome back events are part of every student’s experience in a university, but this year’s effort was truly a creative and inspiring way to help our students find common ground in their diverse cultures and feel like CUD really is their home away from home.
