December 8th, Hall C, CUD: Over 120 excited young gamers visited the University, ready to participate in the Fortnite Battle Royale Tournament.
Fortnite Battle Royale is a player-versus-player game for up to 100 participants. It facilitates individual players, duo’s, or even squad teams. Players are parachuted from a "Battle Bus" which crosses the game's map. When they land, they must hunt for weapons, items, and resources while trying to stay alive and attack other players, eliminating them. The last player, duo, or squads remaining is the winner.
CUD is the first university to host a Fortnite Battle Royale Tournament. The event was organized by our CUD’s gaming club. Taking the lead was the President, Nadine Audi alongside Student Community Coordinator, Ms. Reina Monsour. The event began at 5 pm and ended at 9 pm, leaving 6 winners each of which were rewarded with a cash prize of 500/-.
Speaking of the event, Ms. Reina said that the event was such a success that we hope to host more in the future. She added, “We also hope to create our very own CUD gaming team to compete against other teams across the UAE”
The event was made possible due to collaboration with the Sponsors; MSI Gaming, M3E Gaming, Asgard Gaming Café and Psynix Game Zone.
Nadine said “We would really like to thank all our sponsors for being such a great help and providing us with all the equipment.”
