November 27, 2025, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE): The School of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology (SEAST) has initiated a new collaboration with Osborne Engineering Company (OEL Group) in Dubai, supported by the Career Services Office and the Internship Coordinator.
As part of this partnership, students from the Electrical Engineering Department visited Osborne Engineering to gain firsthand insight into real industrial operations. Founded in 1984, Osborne Engineering Ltd is part of the OEL Group and specializes in the repair and manufacture of white metal bearings, seals, deflectors, and other rotating equipment components. With facilities across the UK, Europe, the UAE, and the US, the company serves a wide range of global industries through advanced engineering and maintenance solutions.
The visit offered students valuable exposure to practical applications of skills from mechatronics courses, including Computer Integrated Manufacturing, control systems, and industrial automation. Students had the opportunity to observe how automation, maintenance, and advanced engineering processes are implemented in professional environments.
This collaboration will extend beyond the visit, supporting internships, student training, industry-led courses, and curriculum development to ensure academic programs remain aligned with evolving engineering needs. An official agreement has been signed to facilitate ongoing cooperation and future joint initiatives.
This collaboration has been achieved with the support of the Career Services and Internship Coordinator Ms. May Elkhoury.
