November 1st, 2016: The collaboration between Canadian University Dubai (CUD) and US higher education institution, Lawrence Technology University (LTU), has been reaffirmed during a recent visit by LTU faculty to the CUD campus.
LTU’s Associate Dean and Chair of Architecture joined faculty and students in CUD’s School of Architecture and Design in a week-long program of activities, which saw students benefit from design critiques provided by the high-level delegation, while faculty in the school engaged in discussions to consolidate and build on the existing partnership between the two institutions.
With an 80 year history, Lawrence Technological University has its origins in a fledgling school launched with the help of Henry and Edsel Ford in their former Model T assembly plant. The University now boasts student and alumni populations that have gone on to design and engineer the tools, buildings, and products that helped define their generations.
In 2015, CUD signed an agreement with LTU to facilitate the transfer of students who wish to complete their architectural studies at the LTU campus in Michigan. The recent visit also incorporated information sessions for interested CUD students to find out more about this opportunity directly from LTU faculty.
