UPEI Invites CUD Students to Explore Canadian Education Opportunities

February 13th, 2017: A representative from the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Canada, has visited Canadian University Dubai (CUD) to showcase the range of opportunities available for study at the Maritime Province’s premier higher education institution.

Student Recruiter and Adviser, Freya (Ruifang) Qi, discussed UPEI’s range of programs in Science, Maths and Computer Science, Business, Sustainable Design Engineering and Education, as well as the opportunities for business students to take up work placements through the co-op program.

Founded as a college in 1804, UPEI established itself as the province’s only university in 1969. Renowned for its small class sizes, the institution is home to students from 60 countries and is ranked among the top 10 universities in Canada.

Ms. Qi, a graduate of UPEI herself, revealed that PEI is Canada’s smallest province; it attracts one million visitors a year and is known for its beaches, golf courses and food, with 80% of all mussels used produced in PEI.

She said, “As an undergraduate moving to PEI from China, I found it a relaxed and friendly place that I now think of as home.”

UPEI is among several institutions in Canada that hold a general partnership with CUD, providing for a range of different collaboration opportunities, including student transfer and further education.
