Steven Buigut is Professor of Economics at Canadian University Dubai (CUD). He joined CUD after serving in various capacities (Professor, Department Chair, and Associate Dean) at American University (United Arab Emirates). His research interests include: economics of integration, tourism economics, and economics of the arts. A significant part of his research has focused on regional integration efforts in developing and emerging economies. His research publications can be found in several well ranked journals. He has consulted for policy institutions such as the Kenyan Institute for Public Policy Research & Analysis (KIPPRA) and the Africa Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC). He has also held visiting position with the African Economic Research Consortium’s (AERC) Joint Facility for Electives Program for several years.
