What is a Bachelor of Psychology?

Canadian University Dubai's Bachelor of Arts in Psychology will provide students with a range of interpersonal skills and an in-depth knowledge of human behavior and thought processes that will help them excel in a variety of career fields as well as pursue graduate studies. Our graduates will be trained in psychological assessment, behavior modification, critical thinking, one-on-one and group communication, understanding individual, group and organizational behavior and counselling.

Why should I take it?

There is an increasing demand for trained and licenced Psychologists in the UAE. In 2016, Dr. Yana Korobko, author of Arabs in Treatment: Development of Mental Health System and Psychoanalysis in the Arab-Islamic World, told the National that there are only 0.51 psychologist per 100, 000 residents in the UAE, She added that “despite an overall increase in psychology centres in the UAE, more than 33,000 patients were without the specialist care they needed.”

Moreover, graduates in Psychology are required by a range of organizations including hospitals, schools, private businesses, the police and the army, social service agencies and mental health centers.

Currently there are very few universities offering a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in the UAE despite the demand for qualified graduates.

How can I use it?

Graduates with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology will find themselves prepared for careers in:

As well the graduates will be able to join Graduate Schools in many disciplines such as Psychology, Social Work, Business, and in the Social Sciences in general. They will also be able to apply to Medical or Law School.
