Potential future academic and research collaboration and pathways for students formed key topics of discussion.
May 10'th, 2024, United Arab Emirates (UAE): On May 10, 2024, Canadian University Dubai (CUD) hosted a delegation from Brock University, Canada, as part of our continuous efforts to strengthen international academic collaboration.
The esteemed delegation was led by Dr. Lesley Rigg, President & Vice-Chancellor of Brock University and other leadership members including Ms. Meaghan Rusnell, Interim VP, External; Dr. Barry Wright, Dean of the Goodman School of Business; and Christina Bosilo, Director of Brock International.
Welcomed by the CUD President’s Office, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and all Deans at CUD, the delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions to explore potential areas for academic and research collaboration, as well as academic pathways for students.
One of the key discussions of this forward-looking visit revolved around current teaching methodologies and innovations, research initiatives, and existing international collaborations at CUD and specifically within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, as Brock University is preparing to welcome its first cohort of engineering students in the upcoming Fall semester.
This was followed by a productive session with CUD’s Research Office which facilitated for knowledge-sharing and exploring structural frameworks, given Dr. Lesley’s prior experience as Vice-President, Research.
This meeting served as an excellent introduction to what promises to be a long and productive relationship between Canadian University Dubai and Brock University.
CUD has an unwavering commitment to strengthening the academic ties between the UAE and Canada. We look forward to building more robust collaborations that will enhance our academic offerings, drive research impact, and contribute significantly to the global educational landscape.
